The Last e-mail

This will be my last email sent as a full time missionary in Korea.

It has been the craziest thing pondering all that has happened over
the last two years and bringing it all down to now just a week left
does not feel right-- but there has been so much of a Spirit and a
love that I have found in Korea. This last week I had the opportunity
to be interviewed by a man who is writing a book about foreigners
living over seas as we spoke I realized more than ever before how much
things have changed over the last two years.
What i realized most is that Christ lives and loves us. In His
perfection, He reaches down with a hand of mercy to lift the weak and
broken hearted and to give hope and peace to those who are searching
for Him. He invites all to come unto Him that He may give us rest.
(Matt. 11:28) The knowledge of Christ as my Redeemer also helped me
understand what He has asked us to do. Wen we are baptized we begin on
the path of discipleship and have promised Him that as his disciples
we will mourn with those who mourn and stand in comfort with those who
need comfort(Mosiah 18: ) He has called us to Love as HE Loved, to
Serve as HE Served and to Live as HE Lived. He is our perfect
example-the Light and Life of the World and all things can be done
through HIM!! HE Lives and because HE lives we can Always find PEACE

Thank you for your testimonies and you love that have helped me gain
the testimony that I now hold!! I love you all so much!! have a great
week!! and we will see you soon!!!

Re: Soccer!

hey fam!!!
So sorry about the wait that you had for this weeks email-- We have finally finished Zone Conferences and with those going every day for the last week and a half this is the only time we have had to hop on! We had 5 of the 6 zones make the trip down to the Mission Office for the conference and had great meetings!! In each of the conferences, one of the sessions was set for hiking the mountain just behind the Chapel here and so we got to spend a lot of time out in the beauty of the spring with great weather not too hot a nice breeze each day and signs and feelings that bore testimony of the Savior! As we hiked the mountain, we heard from the Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders in each zone about their thoughts on the sacrament and President Barrow shared great words of wisdom at the top to conclude that session! It was such a great experience to learn of Christ in His creations and to really feel that peace and joy which are the fruits of the Spirit!
The other session included talks and teaching practices again all focused and centered on the sacrament. I was pleased to speak in these sessions about the unity that is found as we partake of the sacrament! The sacrament is the way we become one with the team of the Godhead, a time in which we are cleansed spiritually in every way which allows us to see our true potential, that as children of God. It was amazing to study this topic in depth and receive guidance and revelation from President and from the Spirit!!

That really was the bulk of the week- we found ourselves in our regular SPM meetings and in preparation for the next zone conference each night that kept us very busy throughout the week! Not too much time to do a lot else but just enough to do what was needed!

That really was the week, going in more detail would take longer than I have so I will explain later!!
Love you all so much and thank you for all that you do for me and more importantly for the Lord!
Love you all bunches!!
Elder Jackson
lots of Pics were taken and so I will send all of them to you next week!!
PPS Jeju is super beautiful, but we didnt have a lot of time out ill send those pics next week too

Love ya!!

Ok so to be completely honest .. this week was super similar to the
last 3 weeks

everything is going by so quickly and learning and applying and
teaching is a process that I did not think could go this fast- not
because I am good at it but just because it just happens!! This week
with our half training meeting and with our MLCM meeting we were
packed with things to plan and prepare and when it all came down to
it, everything was ok. I feel a lot less stressed about the meetings
and such now that I have been involved in almost every one that we
conduct and hold as assistants. The big thing now is zone
conference... We started working on the planning and preparing in the
middle of last transfer and are still working out a few of the
wrinkles in it-- planning on some great meetings with the focus on the
such a blessing to have the time to really think and ponder what the
sacrament means and really why we partake of it. Last week on sunday
Elder Kim and I really took the time to ponder and think about what it
all means. It is the topic on which we will teach and so we felt even
more the need to apply and understand the things that we would talk
and testify of. Well it changed the meaning for both of us- a
different feeling and more of a desire to take it. Well this week
through all the meetings and work that we had, the sacrament continued
to be on my mind. I really wanted to prepare well to partake of the
sacrament and feel the full effect that it can have and as we welcomed
in the members yesterday from the rain, Elder Kim and I expressed
those feelings to each other.
We were so ready. And about 10 minutes before the meeting started,
Elder and Sister Bowcutt came in the church and informed us that there
were some people who looked like they were having some trouble with
their car. Elder Kim and I went out with Elder Bowcutt to see how we
could help and it turned out they had a flat with no phone or
knowledge of how to change the tire. The owners were older and the man
was shivering from the rain.
We went straight to work to change the tire and invited them to go
warm themselves in the church. They gladly accepted the invitation as
we continued to work on the car. After some technical difficulties
with a flat spare tire as well we entered sacrament meeting at 9:50,
both a little discouraged that we were not able to participate in the
sacrament. When the meeting ended we walked the couple back to the car
and they were both so full of light and gratitude. As the left Elder
Bowcutt turned to us and said, "They were not just warmed outside but
on the inside too. Their spirits needed some warmth and that is what
they received today." Thinking about all that had happened, I feel
like I learned even more about the sacrament. We really felt of the
need and the necessity of it but I also thought about the sacrifice
that our Savior made so that we could be spiritually warm and healed
each week!

I am so thankful for the blessings of the gospel. for the truth that
is found in the scriptures and from living prophets today. I am so
grateful for the sacrament, for the cleansing power and the enabling
power that guides us in all that we do because we will have His Spirit
with us.

Love you all so much! Thanks for your examples and your love and your
prayers-- itll be fun to skype next week-- ^^
Love you!!!

Happy 21st Birthday Elder Jackson!

Hey!!! Hows it going!!!

I am not sure how to start my e-mails anymore because my feelings at the start are always about the same. Another quick week, faster than any other before with so much learned and so much accomplished but with so much ahead and the excitement to continue on in the process of serving the Lord!!
Last week was the last week of the transfer and so our schedule was filled in fulfilling the plans and the schedules that we had made as well as making new plans and preparing for meetings. To start the week President continued on with interviews for this transfer and so with that we had a lot to do for him in the office in finalizing some other appointments working on housing for some teams that will move in the next few weeks and in working on bringing in the returning missionaries for their exit interviews and making sure they were prepared and getting ready for their last testimony at our transfer meeting as well as for the meetings and activities that they have before they left(which was this morning). With all the interviews and scheduling going, we also were able to be a part in the transfer meetings. It was very interesting to see the other side of the transfer- of course not strange in any way but very spiritual and inspirational. As I called the missionaries who were transferring I felt more than at any time in my mission how inspired the calls we receive are. Their was a strong confirmation that they would do great in their new area and with their new companion and that they had a reason why the Lord wanted them to serve there. A great experience and very different than when you are on the receiving side waiting and eating something delicious while you reminisce on the past transfer and what had happened hah

In between these meetings and activities, we continued to look at our mission guidelines and as we talked with President, were able to simplify them in a way that brought out the main principle of the rules that we have. It was very interesting putting these together, I felt like we were editing a novel as we found the basic principles typed them out and then brought them to President for his thoughts and approval- another great experience in which I was able to continue to feel the importance of strict obedience but also learn methods of breaking things down into the simplest form- teaching so that a child could understand and live accordingly. And of course a great time to think about the most important things, many of which came down to preparing ourselves so that we can be on the line of revelation. So that we can follow and accomplish the things which the Lord has commanded.

Last week was also filled with many miracles. We had a member present lesson last monday with the referral that we received when I first came. We are able to meet with him about 2 a week and he is doing great and continues to be really open to the message that we share. Also, as we went out to exercise last week we were able to share a message with an older lady who we see quite often when we go up the mountain! and lastly, as we went out to a random printing store to print a few things for transfer meeting, we found that the owner had met the missionaries many years ago in Jinhae(my old area) and attended church there 2-3 times. He said that he is not a fan of missionaries but as we started talking and being able to bear testimony he invited us to sit down and we stayed and talked and taught him for about an hour past his closing time. He had a light to him that was different from a lot of the people that I have met with through out my mission. He thought deeply and was very sincere in the conversation which we had! The Spirit was strong and we hope to meet with him again if we can this week.

Well to end, after a long day of meetings yesterday we took the returning missionaries to the train station today to send them off to Seoul! Sad to send off close friends including Elder Mangakahia- all of them were very strong in their testimony of Christ and left a great Spirit of love and hope for the mission! Tonight we will be off to pick up the 6 new missionaries that will be joining our mission! We are excited to have them arrive and continue, now in the field, to do the Lords work- We have more meetings and some great proselyting activities planned that will be great!!!

Thank you so much for everything including the birthday wishes!!! As always we feel your love everyday and I know that the Heavenly Father is watching over us all!! Love you!! Hope you have a great week!!!

Good Morning from rainy busan!!!!
You know that it is rolling up on some nice spring time and probably
into some of the summer heat and humidity when it rains like it has
been raining in the last week or so here. It is exciting and was
perfect timing for Easter and for Conference!!! It was a really great
experience to hear the testimonies of Christ and His Atonement and
resurrection on the day that we celebrate those things!!(even though
we did watch it the 11/and 12) but the spirit of things was so strong
as the whole conference truly centered around Christ and His Love and
sacrifice for each of us!!!!

So we will start from the end of the week and go through til last
p-day..... Again Conference was SUPER great!!! Each time I am always
so surprised at the connection and relation that is gives to me
personally and to everyone who watches to hear the words of God from
His servants!! This conference I loved the talks given by Elder
Bednar, Elder L Whitney Clayton, and Elder Wilford W. Anderson. Great
insights on serving the Lord with hope faith and love always looking
toward His light so that we can receive and share His light!!! I am
thankful for the living prophets and for Thomas S. Monson who serves
us, leads us and guides us in keeping the commandments of the Lord!! I
am so thankful for the safety and protection that we can find as we
heed to the words of the prophets!!!!

Outside of conference this week was super busy, We had meetings going
on around the mission each day and knowing and feeling and hoping that
each is going well is a really different feeling- last week we did not
go to each one but there were interview meetings and zone meetings
that we spent a week scheduling that all happened- and now things are
just picking up. We have started planning and preparing our meetings
for transfer meeting and for the new missionary training meetings that
we will be holding now in two weeks. This is the last week of this
transfer and so I am sure we will be busy with preparing and planning
the rest of the meetings and in making some of the transfer calls this

We had some great appointments this week with members and with
investigators that were a great time and full of the spirit!! We
visited a member who just made us laugh for about an hour as he took
pictures of everything that we showed him and threw in these random
english catchphrases!! super funny guy!! (Ill send a pic) We also met
with our progressing investigator! super awesome guy and
as we talked we were able to find out a lot about what he has been
feeling and his thoughts about the church- as we taught the
restoration there was a strong spirit and great acceptance of the
principles that were taught! We are hoping to help him understand why
we do the things we do - the things that he has seen his aunts uncles
and cousins so from when he grew up as a kid until now!! He is
great!!! Last night we also had the chance to go back to Jinhae for
SPM meeting- had a great time seeing some familiar faces as we had the
meeting and then after as we ate dinner at the stake presidents home!!
Always so great to go back and see the people who you have served

Crazy things this week-- on friday night 90% of the cell phones in the
mission lost the ability to place calls-- only receiving... It was a
super stressful 45 minutes as we called the mission figuring out not
only the problem but also which teams were home and if there phones
worked or not-- super nuts!!!!!! hah and still not fixed but that
should be cleared up today!!!

Anyway a great week and more than ever so thankful for the great
elders that I am able to serve with!! Today we will go to visit a few
of Elder Mangakahias old areas as he is now on his last week of
missionary work! great example and friend!!!

Love you all and hope you had a great sunday!!!!
Thank you for your prayers and LOVE!!!
Elder Jackson
P.s I still havent found my licence--of course my identity is the only
thing I would lose over 2 years
#losingyourselfinthework? hahah
Love you!

Hellooo!!! 차 이번주 진짜 빨리지나갔네요.....!!!!!
Holy smokes!! this week went by way too fast!! talk about 100 miles per hour and that is what we have haha It has been a week full of miracles and a ton of fun!!! Lots that we were planning for and doing and planning as we were doing (i hope that makes sense hah) but it was all really great!!! As dad said there are a lot of things that have happened and more than just not enough to type them, explaining the feelings and experiences would just sound really cliche. A lot of vague words that do not give the real feeling thoughts or explanation of what happened- I hope that the things I share today will be able to bring the Spirit that I have felt over this last week to you!

Last week we started planning our MLCM meeting for the Zone Leaders and Sister Training leaders. This week as we presented the agenda based around the new Because HE lives to President, he shared with us an idea which lead us to having to plan a lot more in detail- the idea was to go on a hike for the meeting. Of course we loved the idea and quickly took Presidents idea and set it to our agenda and then checked the weather- It was supposed to be raining.. Well we continued to plan and prepare despite the forecast and waking up friday morning the clouds were out and black not a sign that the sun would shine that day-but as we prayed studied and prepared for our meeting the clouds left with paths drying up and the sun beaming bright! and through the hike it continued to be that great weather actually up until we came back in from the hike and then the clouds covered back over and although there still was no rain it was not hiking weather- That Miracle lead to so many more as we hiked taught and learned from the testimonies of the leaders in our mission!! We had 5 stops which allowed most of the missionaries to share testimony and had a teaching practice as we hiked- teaching and testifying of Christ at all times in all things and in all places! at the top of the mountain one of the sister companion ships bore there testimony as one played the violin and we all sang together I know that my redeemer lives-- It was such a great meeting and one that I will always remember as we felt of His Presence through the testimonies and hope of each of the missionaries that attended!

Well along with this great miracle we also had our investigator come to another activity on Saturday night and to church again on sunday!! we are really excited for him and his family who referred him to us! As we attended our normal church meetings yesterday there was a really strong spirit in fast and testimony meeting and in our gospel principles class!! He committed to coming to watch general conference with us next week!! it will be great to have him there!!! -- I am super excited for conference and can not wait to hear what revelation the prophets have received!

With all that we continued to have a blast- serving in two threesomes has really been a blessing and I am so thankful for the time that I have had to learn from 4 great missionaries in the last month!! super awesome and just having a great time as we are serving the Lord!!! and we had Easter dinner with the Barrows last night-- super delicious!!!!!!^^ ㅋㅋㅋ

LOVE you all so much as I say each week, thank you for your prayers and your love!!!
I know that we can be together forever!!

Hello Hello!!! Hows it been???

This week has been super busy trying to get used to the things in the office and keep everything in order. At the beginning of this transfer they started re-modeling the mission office and we are still working on the last touches trying to get everything back into place so that we can get back to being the most effective we can be! Outside of the craziness that the remodeling brings, we have been having a great time planning and teaching and going on exchanges and having meetings and the works!

After a nice p-day at the beach on monday we came back and spent just about the rest of the night cleaning up all the garbage that was still left on the floors in the office. Tuesday we had a zone meeting to attend and then went to take new mattresses up to shinjeong area which is right outside of bangeojin- it was fun going up to a familiar place but it was quite the travel. Wednesday we went back out to Jinhae for the Zone meeting there- again super great being able to see the missionaries I worked so closely with over the last 3 transfers especially Elder Wilson and Elder Heo- came to find out that they now have set a baptismal date with one of the investigators we were met before I left!!! If everything continues to go well he will be baptized this coming sunday!!! Super excited for both of them!!!
After the meeting we came back to busan and we went on exchanges- I went to an area in busan called gupo- right now there are two great young missionaries there who are a great example of what it means to be diligent and open to the Spirit! it was a lot of fun going with them and talking to them about the experiences that they are having now that i similarly experienced about a year and a half ago- it was a time of much reflection and a great time of learning for sure!!!
After our exchange ended a lot of the planning began- we have a few large meetings that will be coming within the next month and so setting dates and making agendas deciding on topics etc. was a lot of the rest of our week! Until saturday when we were able to go to a young single adult activity with a member and their cousin who is now a progressing investigator!! So amazing how the Lord has prepared the member to invite her cousin and how the Lord has prepared him to learn about the gospel!! We have met with him the last two days and we are planning to meet twice this week!! Really excited for him and the family and the ward!

This week I have been studying a lot in the Old Testament just at the beginning starting with Genesis and going through Abrahams life-- To be honest the Old Testament is super hard to understand, but the thing that I love is the focus and emphasis on the obedience of Abraham and the blessings that he will receive because of that obedience- in Genesis 22:18 it says
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
It is a blessing to know that when we simply are obedient that the Lord will pour out blessings to us that even at times we may not be able to comprehend. This has been a huge realization for me this week again as I studied the scriptures- obedience is key and without it we can go too far! Thank you for your love and examples of obedience! It is the greatest blessing to live in a family where obedience has been taught and continues to be taught at all times and in all things! Although we are not always perfect as we act in faith we will be blessed!~

Thanks for everything!! Love you all so much!!
Have a great week and a fun time watching conference!!

Final Transfer!!!

Hows it going!! sounds like a super fun week back at home -- super
jealous of the soccer fun but ya know getting to go play beach soccer
today for pday will suffice!! haha

This week was extremely busy with saying goodbyes and teaching the
area along with pushing the work along in Jinhae! Elder Wilson Elder
Heo and I had a great time together planning and having exchanges
teaching 2 new investigators and inviting them both to baptism as well
as coming to the end of the week 3 investigators at church and 2 less
actives!! just a great way to finish things in Jinhae!! Serving with
Elder Heo and Elder Wilson was a HUGE blessing we had so much fun and
I learned a lot from two great Elders!!

I arrived to the mission office last night and was filled in for the
next 2-3 hours on what we would be working on and doing in the next
few weeks- Lots going on and lots to plan for but now in a threesome
with Elder Kim insu and Elder Mangakahia things should roll smoothly!!
(we hope ㅋㅋㅋ) haha

Thats really about it for this week not a lot new that I can put on to
paper or in a letter right now- lots of interesting thoughts and
feelings . Already new experiences and repeats of many as well. I am
so grateful to be serving the Lord and His children in Korea- The love
that they have for us and the love that I have for them has truly
increased and continues to grow each day! I can only imagine the Love
that Heavenly Father has for each of us- for the joy He feels when we
are doing what is right and for the sadness He has when we are going
through the trials of life. I know He lives, Loves and guides us

Thank you always for the love you send through your prayers and
emails! I could never express the influence and help that it gives in
each moment of every day!!!
Love you all,
Elder Jackson

Because my words are few ill hook you up with some pics!!
Love you!! the picture in front of the blackboard is with an
investigator I started teaching in changwon (first area)!! I was there
on an exchange an he was there for english class

Chinese New Year and Release date!

And now the real message..
So this week felt like a total of 3 days put together..mostly due to
lunar new year making everyday feeel like only seconds. I forgot again
how much of Korea shuts doen for the holidays, but we had more
appointments than normal and they were all really great!!!
Last monday I bought a suit!!! it is still needing to be tailored and
so I havent taken a picture yet but i like it a lot- ill try to get a
pic to you next week! but on monday and tuesday we spent a lot of our
time continuing to find and visit less active members- definitely not
the easiest thing but it gives a feeling of accomplishment and peace
as we recieve the information about these members!
Wednesday Thursday and friday was the holiday- so we had 3-4
appointments with members that included eating delicious and hearing
about the traditions of each family during the season. We also were
able to go on a beautiful hike with our bishop- It was great to spend
some time with him. His family is now living in Provo for school and
so besides speaking with them through skype once or twice a week he is
often alone at the church or home- so a great time to spend with him
iver the New Year. We also had the opportunity to visit the US Navy
base in Jinhae- There is an American couple who live on the base- the wife is a member but her husband is not- They so however
come to church together for all three hours each week- super awesome
couple! This week on thursday we headed over and made rice cake soup
and a kimchi side and celebrated "Chinese New Year" with them! It was
a great time we had an awesome lesson and he committed to take the
lessons! Crazy teaching in english... it has been a really long
time... hahah and to end the night- nothing better than Ice cream
sundaes and brownies- also been a very long time^^ haha
To end our week we had a very busy saturday- our morning soccer a
member appointment and then to our englsih class which ended early for
a ward "friendshipping" activity hahah We line danced!! haha It was
super fun! a few of the members had learned a few different line
dances and were able to teach them to us and so we had a great time- 2
investigators and a few less active members came and so a successful
and fun meeting for everyone!!!
This week I did get a call from mission headquarters with the
confirmation that my flight will leave korea on the 3rd of june.. so
although it wasnt my favorite thing to hear it gave a lot of time to
reflect and not only see the things that I have been able to do but
also see the things that I need to do! As I was thinking about the
many things that have come I was able really to again realize how
amazing the Atonement is- How much of a blessing it is in our lives if
we choose to access the power that it gives. I love learning of the
Atonement in the Book of Mormon and know that that is one of the
purposes of this scripture- to testify of Christ as our SAvior and
Redeemer and to help us find peace in this life and in the life to
I am so thankful for the Lords work- the Work of Salvation!!! It is a
work of miracles and joy!!
Thank you for your prayers and love!! We feel the influence of it all
as we serve each day!! Love you all!!!
ELder Jackson!!

ps tell cameron hi and to email me!! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Chinese New Year! 2.15.15.

HELLLOOOOOOOO!! Happy Chinese New Year!! We are excited to be
celebrating this week with our members and our investigators!! Always
fun when holiday season comes in!!!!

Well- this last week was full of just activity- we were honestly
running from place to place in order to get everything that we needed
done. We have continued to visit less actives and had two large
activities last week that kept us on our toes!

We continued to have success in our less active efforts- not
necessarily finding and teaching them but getting information about
where they are and what they are doing. The result is still with a
high percentage of them having moved.... but its the greatest feeling
when someone answers the door and says that their son or husband lives
there and is at work or school and so to come and visit again later!
It has been quite the experience again being able to feel the
direction that the Lord gives through our Priesthood leaders and we
know that they are inspired to do these things to help Him fulfill HIs
purpose- To bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man!

Our activities included our weekly family home evening that had record
attendance this week and a road show!! The road show was basically a
talent show held at stake level! It was fun as we were able to
participate in many of the performances-- the main performance of our
ward was a shadow puppet show- super hilarious but also a great
message about the Saviors birth! The missionaries and the Bishop were
the "skills" team so we got to act the puppets to the voices of our
members! Really a fun great time!!!

This week we also had a great time being able to serve our zone- We
had a Zone Conference this last week on Friday. As Zone Leaders we had
the opportunity to give a teaching practice that was based off of the
topic of Planning and Communicating with the Lord. It was such a sweet
experience to learn more about how we need to change and need to be in
order to feel the Spirit, recognize what we need to do and then act on
those feelings and impressions. Our whole meeting was based off of
scriptures from Helaman chapter 5 Ether chapters 1-3 and Preach My
Gospel chapter 4. As Elder Lee and I were studying for our practice we
were able to learn a lot about ways that we can better prepare
ourselves to recognize and accomplish the things which the Lord has
prepared. Through our studies my favorite piece of new knowledge was
found in Ether chapter 3 verse 1- And it came to pass that the brother
of Jared, (now the number of the vessels which had been prepared was
eight) went forth unto the mount, which they called the mount Shelem,
because of its exceeding height, and did molten out of a rock sixteen
small stones; and they were white and clear, even as transparent
glass;and he did carry them in his hands upon the top of the mount, and
cried again unto the Lord- as Elder Lee and I studied this verse we
thought about the effort that the brother of Jared put into receiving
and answer from the Lord. Not only hiking up to a high mountain but
then cleansing and purifying the rock which he would later take to the
Lord to have Him fill it with light. We compared the rock to our
hearts, What do we need to do in order to receive Gods Light and
continue in righteousness until we to will come to know more perfectly
of Him? We must purify our hearts make them clean and pure and only
then will the Lord stretch out His finger and touch us with His light.
That light being a better understanding of who HE is.

Between all of this we were able to find a new investigator and have a
great lesson with Him about our relationship with God and also as we
continue to meet, we were able to see and feel his desire to
get baptized. We are working on a plan and praying for his date but
just trying to help him as he desires which is coming to live a life
of faith! So thankful for those that the Lord allows us to teach and
the things that he prepares us for and lifts us so that we can do!
Love you!!
Elder Jackson

PS thanks for the Valentines package!! I was able to feel s'more of
your LOVE ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Have a great day!!! Love ya!

Concrete Jungle of Korea. 2/9/15

Hows it goin?!?! The fact that each week progressively gets faster is really nuts. I never thought that I would wake up each morning and go to bed each night not even feeling the days as they went... but as they go by the Lord is constantly guiding and helping us accomplish the things which we need to do. This week has been full of so many small miracles that we really cannot count them all.
Last week after our p-day we made and organized the less active members that we were going to visit for the upcoming week- 35 houses. And so we started and as we walked through the concrete jungle of Korea we were able to find more information and meet more people than I ever have before when searching for less active members- we have confirmed every home that we visited as either living there or as moved - most of the time it is a huge question mark because no one is ever home or they dont answer or they tell us to go away before we can ask haha but it was a great faith builder as we were striving to accomplish the things which our Priesthood leaders had asked us to do! This was a continually finding throughout the week and as we did that we also prepared and had our meeting with the stake leaders, had MLCM and were able to go out to the furthest are in our zone for a baptismal interview and make it back (round trip of 4hrs and 30mins). It was quite the week. There is a promise that is given to all those who work with the Spirit in  helping others come unto Christ, that we will not be weary that we will have His strength and His direction in all things! I know that to be true as we have been able to feel it this week!
Well throughout the week we have also been working on trying to use the Book of Mormon more in our tracting and all phases of the work, this allowed us to find some amazing people this week! so my favorite story of the week- as wee were riding the bus down to the mission home for MLCM we were studying as we were riding the bus and all of the sudden the person sitting behind me leans forward and says in perfect english, "hey you can put you seat back if you would like." I was really shocked hah but as we continued to talk it turns out that he studied in Malaysia for 2 years and learned english there and is looking for more opportunities to speak. not only that but his parents also want him to choose his own religion and set his own beliefs and he said "I dont want to go to hell" haha well that lead into a discussion of the plan of salvation and his contact number- although he doesnt live in our area I was so thankful that the Lord literally gave me the opportunity to open my mouth and share His gospel!!
In response to Dads insight on prayer, I think that there is a lot that can be prayed for. As missionaries we work hard but sometimes as we are working we forget to stop and look to see who the Lord has prepared for us to touch and be in contact with. There also are a lot of people who needs those prayers that they may be able to recognize the Lord hand in there life. I also know that this isnt something that each member of the church can feel as they pray for the ability to share the gospel and help the missionaries in their efforts! I am so thankful for you prayers and for your example as you work with the missionaries to bring others back into the boat!!! Dad you are a great example to me and I love to hear that you are helping the missionaries create miracles!^^
Love you all!!
Thank you for everything!!!! Good luck with the tournaments and things coming up soon! stay safe and have fun!!!
Love you all!!!

February 1, 2015

So yeah not sure what or how i will fill in the two weeks that have passed- all I have to say is that miracles of all shapes and sizes have been being given to Elder Lee and I. We are staying together for his last transfer!! and our area had some change ups-- instead of a four man we turned back into a two man and are bringing in a team of sisters that will be training- so in other words in for a great time!
The last week of last transfer was a bit of a stressful one with waiting for transfer calls and trying to do all that we could for a possible transfer ... thankfully we passed though thursday working at a higher level and just continued to keep going! We got a new assignment from our bishop that week to visit every member in the area- active less active- ALL! and so we have been working a lot on organizing the lists that we have received so that we can do it all in the next month- about 300 people and so our schedule filled really fast!
So this week with bringing in the sisters team we got to prep their house a bit and we have had a few meetings together with them that have allowed us to continue doing the normal activities and help them start more smoothly in the new area. And off of the planning and preparing from last week we were able to visit about 20 houses and as most less active visits go- lots of "they moved like 3 years ago..." answers at the door. But yesterday as we went out to visit we were able to meet an awesome man whose son is less active. The father not a member but let us in gave us some water and we were able to have a  great talk and mini lesson with him! His daughter is actually now living in Bountiful and although he calls himself as atheist he was thankful for the impact that it has had on his families lives.
So it has not been an extremely exciting 2 weeks but we have been working hard and trying our best to open our eyes to the miracles that the Lord is working so that we may be able to see and feel them and help those around us recognize the same miracles in their life! A huge part of our studies recently have been based off of the lessons we have had. They have a lot of questions that they don't feel like they are getting answers to and so we have changed our focus more and more on the influence and power of the Spirit and what His role is in our conversion. It has been a great week to learn more about the Godhead and the blessings that we receive as we strive daily to keep the commandments and weekly as we partake of the Sacrament. I really felt the importance of recognizing that although the Holy Ghost does not have a body He is a God and having that influence in our lives is necessary in order to progress and repent. As we do these things that same God - The Holy Ghost- is able to give us the remission of our sins so that we can be clean again. He has a unique and very important role in helping Heavenly Father accomplish His goal of all of His children receiving Eternal Life. And it is all made possible through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. They Live Love us and are working together with all they can to help guide us through the trials of life. The milestones that we need to face in order to gain the experience and knowledge that our Heavenly Father has prepared. I know that they are right next to us standing near and waiting for us to call upon Them trust Them and walk with Them. To end this week I was able to teach gospel principles class about exaltation where in I found now one of my favorite quotes-Joseph Smith taught: “It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the Character of God. … He was once a man like us; … God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did." I know that as we strive to live in a way to understand who our Father is, He will bless us with every necessity that will lead us to life with Him, His Son, and with our families!!!!
I love you all so much and always can feel your support love a prayers- they are being heard and answered as we are about doing the Fathers work!
Love you tons,
Elder Jackson

January 19, 2015

Happy 19th ... oh man this week again has flown by like none other- there is a lot we are trying to change and do and working to be the most effective in this area-- making sure that all 4 of us serving here are on the same page and working pushing forward in the same goals! Super fun week!!!!

Tuesday we had our great service project at the senior center folding there clothes and such and most of the time we fold for about an hour and then help clean the bathrooms or something and then get to go talk to the Seniors. Really a great fun activity! however this week we folded laundry for 2 straight hours!! so walking into the room there was a pile that was almost up to my waist and big enough that I could have done a full body slam without even pushing it down all the way- and when it came to the ending time there was still a large pile- shout out to mom and dad for teaching us how to fold laundry right?! ^^ hah but we came back to have a great lesson. because of the opposition we had to change the date of the investigator's baptism ... however he is basically living like a member attending almost all activities and all sunday meetings- reading the Book of Mormon daily praying asking questions and seeking to find the truth! really a great kid and has a lot of help from his older brother and his friend!

On wednesday we headed out to the furthest district in our zone for district meeting and to start exchanges!! The meetings and chances we have had to do exchanges are such a blessing!! its really so interesting how much you learn from different district with the different styles of teaching and the testimonies of each missionary! This week I again had the opportunity to go on an exchange with a new missionary in now his 6 week- His name is Elder Itri- These new missionaries are extremely amazing and progressing so fast! super sweet to see!! Well that exchange went to thursday and after we ended came back to our area for interviews with President Barrow! Love that time to talk and feel the Spirit have questions answered and better understand what I need to do to fulfill my purpose as a servant of the Lord!

The rest of thursday and friday we headed out to visit some less active members and also on the goal of visiting as many members as we can to help the ward start on some of the new goals set for this year! Friday we had 3 appointments set within 4 hours and including travel time it was a full night -- not just for time. Each home that we visited had a full dinner prepared to eat with us. Having to keep our schedule we were at each house for 40-45 minutes and after sharing the message and on our way out the door we were also given more food that they had prepared for us to take home... that night we had quite the time trying to settle our stomachs before bed but it was all really delicious!!! The worst part is at one house they had me eat more because they said it looked like I had lost weight-- if I did it is all back now! haha

Saturday again a great day at our soccer activity which is becoming more and more effective as members are bringing their friends! a fun english class our numbers are rising and we have had 3 or 4 people call us from the advertisements we have placed around the area! Everything is going really really well!! of course on the week of transfers things are all going just about right-- thursday we have our call night and so we will see how that turns out!

Recently we have been studying a lot about how to receive answers to our hard questions- that has been a concern for some investigators and also for less actives -- as we studied the Spirit and the ways that He communicates with us we came across a few talks from decembers Liahona- one called helping others find faith in Christ and the other - finding answers to Hard questions. After reading these talks there are some great points that we can apply to not only help us help others but also help us understand our Heavenly Father and the plan that He has created for us! I am so thankful for the time I have to serve Him and His children and not only help answer their questions and concerns but also receive a stronger witness of the Nature of our Heavenly Father!!!
Love you all so much!!
thanks for your prayers and love and support and everything!!!
Clothes are all holding up ^^ haha LOVE YOU!!

January 11, 2015

This week sounds like it was as always full of lots of great activities and the thing that I have found is the busier you sound at home the busier we seem to be here too-- in other words a great week lots of fun and lots to do!! We had a great time planning not only for a zone meeting this week but also for our SPM meeting collecting the information of all progressing investigators in the Zone and also reporting on recent converts and their status! When we first had to prepare for that meeting it was pretty stressful and I didnt like it too much, but it is such a blessing to be able to hear the reports and hear first hands from the other missionaries how things are going! in doing so we also learn and get ideas that we can apply to our investigators- although they are all different hearing how others have taught really brings a new perspective!

Our zone meeting was also a great learning and growing experience for us this week- we received our topic a couple weeks ago and through our planning with lots of prayer were able to set up a meeting centered around the Gospel of Jesus Christ(Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, the Gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End) and able to learn a lot more about what is possible Because of Him!!! Really a fun and spiritual meeting where each missionary came prepared to receive revelation of how we can reach a new step in our missionary work and in our lives!! I am extremely thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the part it plays not only in the role of "missionary work" but in the Work of Salvation!

This week our progressing investigator came to our appointment and to church with his Book of Mormon studied and marked and ready with questions for us! Really prepared and as we have been meeting with his older brother and friend who are the recent converts we have been able to have some great discussions about the church and help them all take a step closer to Christ which in turn helps us take a step closer to Christ! His date for baptism is set for the 24th of this month and he is well on the road of preparation!

Anyways just a way super sweet week- to add to it exchanges with Elder Wilsons companion who is a trainee and way hilarious! Elder Newell from Washington and just a super nice guy! and of course the blessing of a zone meeting also comes with the chance to see 3 of my old companions plus other missionaries that have been hopping from zone to zone with me! really awesome to be able to see so many missionaries that have helped me a lot and to just have a great time with them! Also ate some really delicious food this week!! yeah a lunch appointment and the member made so much food it didnt fit on the table all at once!!-- super delicious!!!!

The work keeps going and I am so glad to be a part of it!!! I love this work and am so glad that I can be a part of it in a time that the Lord is hastening!! Because of His Son, all things are made possible and we are able to create ties that last not just in this lifetime but in the life to come!! I am so thankful for you- my family!! who have taught me so much about serving the Lord and putting Him first! who have taught me right from wrong and raised me in a place where the Spirit of the Lord can be felt!!

Love you all!!

New Year-New age-New Experiences

Hey Ho and What do you know-- another week flying by like nothing----but let me tell ya.. This week was an interesting one!!! Monday we had a fun day bowling and playing board games a really relaxed day followed by a meeting and going to the sister missionaries old house to finish cleaning it out-- the sister team was moved out of the area about 7 months ago but their fridge and some other things were left because they didnt know that no one was replacing them... so we go to clean the fridge-- somehow like 500 fruit flies got stuck in their and died-- so that was a real adventure cleaning everything out and throwing pretty much everything away-- except for the kimchi ... Thank goodness we were almost out in our house hahaha blessing of eating already fermented food. the more fermented it gets the better it tastes!

On tuesday to wednesday another great experience and blessing to go on an exchange with former companion Elder Bingham-- It is his last transfer and he is district leader in my training area so got to go be with him in another place that we both love!! and as a part of the exchange I had the chance to give a baptismal interview!! Those may be some of the most spiritual experiences of my mission- It truly has to be lead by the spirit in order to make sure that these future members of the church have the understanding they need to participate in the ordinace of baptism. and although they are all prepared and it is not a pass or fail interview, It is important to help them understand the promises that they will make with Heavenly Father and it is always great to have that reminder of the covenants that I have made with Him as well!!

Well New Years rolled around and we had a great time with our english classes playing games and talking about the New Years traditions in America and Korea-- again just really cool to learn more about the culture and the meaning of the things that they do and although each person is different the meaning is always one of hope and joy!! On Thursday morning we woke up at 5 and walked out to see the first sunrise of the year-- It was soooooooo cold I had like every layer I own on and my face still froze haha actually way funny because I couldnt smile so when I tried it came out as like a half smile and just looks ridiculous- My nickname for the morning was grandpa jackson...... but it was so fun to be with the members and a few investigators to welcome in the New Year and eat rice cake soup together and all turn one year older- yes 22 in Korean age thank you!! hahah

Well this week we also saw many miracles-- We often meet with 3 young men two who have been baptized and one( the youger brother of one of the converts) who has not. Since the missionaries have met with them, they have always had a good time outside of lessons (like on pday and such) just being with the missionaries. As this week passed we both felt like there was something more that we could be doing for these boys and as we thought about it a very bold but necessary thought came into our planning- We were both a little hesitant to teach this lesson because we didnt want to break the relationship that we have with them- part of the plan included dropping most of the "fun stuff" we do and focusing alot more on the teachings of the church- well the appointment came and with all worries being washed away we taught a very bold message about missionaries purpose. and the result-- Both converts (who have just recently started coming back to church, recommited to take the lessons with us and strive harder to live in the gospel and the younger brother- committed to being baptized this month! His parents are against it and so we are not sure of what the outcome will be but we do know that by the end of this month he will be ready! Really a testimony builder of following the promptings of the Spirit and fulfilling the call that we have recieved from our Heavenly Father!

Along with the experiences this week I came to really appreciate Moroni 10:5- The promise that we have been given that by the power of the Holy Ghost the truth of ALL things will be made known unto us is true!! It blesses the live of those who are seeking righteousness and truth always!! I am so thankful for the Gift of the Holy Ghost that we have all received after we were baptized and I know that He is our comforter and our friend!

Love you all! Have a great week!!!

Christmas Skype

So yeah Christmas call was a blast!!! Loved getting to see you all and talk and see what has been going on over the last 6 months!!! Such a great way to start the morning leading into an exciting day!!!
We left the house after the phone call and headed straight to the bus stop for an hour bus ride down to the Masan stake center where we then got straight to work setting everything up and preparing the last minute bits for our Christmas English Festival!! Although our goal was not even close to being reached, we had a great show of investigators and members from each ward or branch and had a great time playing our games and making Christmas presents and ornaments for family friends and for ourselves-- and ended the party with a great message including the HeistheGift video!! really a great activity lots learned and lots gained!! we are excited to plan for the next up and coming activities that our stake has planned!!
We ended Christmas night with some Chicken Feet and hot chocolate!! Another fun way to end a great day!
Friday we helped some members move into a new house using some pretty nifty techniques haha a piano 2 fridges a few large bookselves and a washing machine all moved to the 4th floor of an apartment with no elevator and with out using stairs-- the moving trucks in korea also include a ladder with a platform on it that lifts everything up to where it needs to be--used in all cases- the tallest Ive seen is maybe 20 floors- hah but after that headed back down to Masan for a district proselyting activity handing out 500+ pass along cards with the link to the He is the gift video-- with 10 missionaries a big board and a lot of people we were able to over pass our goal in an hour and a half!!! It was quite a miracle which also has brought a new investigator for two of the 5 teams by the next day!!
Saturday played soccer and had our english class and then had the chance to go down to 도계 to see a baptism of a little girl. The father of the family was really less active last year when I first came to Korea and with receiving permission Elder Park and I taught him and he started coming back to church. It has now been a year and so saturday the father was able to baptize his daughter!! such a sweet experience and so lucky to be able to be so close so that we could go down to see it!!!!
With that we ended our week well and had a great last sunday of the year yesterday!!!
Thanks again for everything and for a great Christmas call!!!
Love you all so much and am so thankful to be part of such a well formed family^^ ㅋㅋㅋ
Love you!!! KICC <3

SO this week has been a blast!!! Lots of planning again but also some great meetings with some new investigators and less actives!! Its been a great blessing to be able to serve back in an area where I had already known some of the less active members and many of the recent converts who were baptized last year and really everyday as we meet with them I feel almost like I am back at home!!
